Our Purpose.
The scholarship program, is one of several events supported by the chapter’s Scholarship Committee through the Delta Alpha Lambda Foundation. It is an important event for the fraternity as monies raised through this program will:

Provide scholarship funds for deserving students in our youth groups and other deserving young males.

Recognize the contributions and academic achievement of our student participants over the past year.

Acknowledge the newest mentees and student leaders in our programs.

DELTA ALPHA LAMBDA SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
Applications are to be postmarked and/or electronically date-time stamped no later than Tuesday, February 28, 2024.
No applications will be reviewed after the deadline date.

AWARD COMPONENTS:
The monetary awards will be determined by the Scholarship Committee starting at $1,000 per scholarship.
​CRITERIA:

Must be a graduating high school senior (2023 -2024 school year)

Completed written application
-
Application must be received on time without exception

3.0 Minimum GPA overall or progression towards un-weighed GPA of 3.0 over the course of four semesters (For the most recent completed cumulative GPA period in 2023 by application deadline)

Official high school transcript

All transcripts must be submitted using the grading policy/GPA scale currently used by their school

Student must reside and/or attend a high school in Cuyahoga County

Acceptance letter from college/university (copy must be enclosed with application)

Essay from one of the four topics listed below (Minimum 250 words on a separate sheet of paper):
1.) “What it means to be a Servant today to All of Mankind?”
2.) “How did you overcome any past academic deficiencies and how will you sustain success in college?”
3.) “What is the biggest challenge facing the minority youth of today?”
4.) “Upon completion of your academic requirements at college, how do you plan to show Love for All of Mankind?”

Essay is not to exceed 300 words maximum

Essay must be typed, Times New Roman style, font size 12, single spaced, and error free

No essay or application will be accepted or considered for evaluation if it is handwritten, as all submissions must be received in electronic form via the link below.

One letter of recommendation, one from a school official such as an administrator, guidance counselor, department chair, or academic advisor and one from a person in the community (letters from relatives are strictly prohibited). Must include typed two contact numbers, e-mail address, and full name

A face to face panel interview of the applicant with the review committee
